Dr Lee Arnott

Dr Lee Arnott was awarded his contemporary history PhD in 2022 having examined the experience of LGBT soldiers in the British Army since 1960. This project, which also examined modern gender relations, was part-sponsored by the Imperial War Museum and he has presented for the museum and appeared on panels discussing the recent history of LGBT in the British Army. He has co-authored a chapter on the impact of the world wars on modern sexualities, for Cambridge University Press’s History of Sexuality series. He is currently researching and writing a social history of Britain since the 1960s through the lens of a very familiar British TV show. He's also a podcast producer, editing, co-writing and co-hosting The Problematic Gaze Podcast with long time friend Dave Moor.
